This drabble was written for the 100 Words/Renewal
comment_fic prompt: Marvel Cinematic Universe, Any, a day at the spa.
Bucky adjusted the cinch around the waist of his fluffy robe and fidgeted in his chair, even though it really was quite comfortable. He needed to scratch his nose, but he had some kind of green goop slathered on his face, and his eyes were covered with slices of cucumber.
"Stop fidgeting. I can hear you." Sam muttered from the next chair over.
"Why are we doing this again?"
Sam sighed. "We're relaxing. Taking it easy. Self-care."
"Seems like a waste of time to me," Bucky grumbled. He felt a hand slip into his and give it a light squeeze.
"It's okay to do things for yourself sometimes, to take a break from saving the world. I promise."
Bucky squeezed Sam's hand in return.
"I know. I just really have to scratch my nose and it's driving me crazy."
Sam chuckled. "That means it's working, Buck."
A sliding door opened from the other side of the room, and Bucky tensed up involuntarily. Old habits die hard.
"How are we doing?" Bucky relaxed when he realized it was the woman who'd brought them into their suite and put on their facials.
"Just fine, ma'am," Sam answered.
"Are we ready to wash those faces?"
"Yes!" Bucky blurted out.
She took the cucumber slices off of their eyes, and motioned them toward the basin on the other side of the room.
"You first, James." Sam said, a smug grin on his face.
Bucky narrowed his eyes at Sam, but then scampered over to the basin to scrub off his face. When he was done, Sam was at his side, handing him a towel to dry off with.
Bucky smiled. "Thanks."
"Thank me later...in the hot tub." Sam winked, and suddenly Bucky thought a day at the spa wasn't so bad after all.
